With the aid of secure communications, securing transmission via external devices ensures that one is almost entirely not dependent on the computer platforms that are used to transfer said information. This article offers a framework for how a network using external devices can transmit information securely. Schemes for DTE key storage and CTS flow control are introduced. Several options for such a framework are discussed, with the most beneficial being that guaranteed delivery and synchronization issues are resolved via an extra unit in the device itself. Key storage during electrical shortages our outages is also discussed.
